Drady replaces Feist on Park Board

Drady

John Drady has joined the Minot Park Board to replace Connie Feist, who resigned in December.

Feist said she felt it necessary to resign because she has been spending most of her time in Spearfish, S.D., where she coaches a triathalon team for Black Hills State University. She said it has not been feasible, especially in the winter, to always get back for park board meetings.

“I found that I was not as in touch with the local issues as I feel a park board member should be,” Feist said. She added she enjoyed her time with the board.

“Minot is a community that should be very proud of its parks and the park district and staff,” she said. “I was really honored to serve on the board for as many years as I did.”

Feist, who was elected in 2006, was more than halfway through her third four-year term. Drady will serve the remaining year and a half in the term. The position will be on the June 2018 ballot.

Drady had served on the park board from 2012 to 2016, narrowly losing his seat to Steve Wharton in the June 2016 election.
