Holiday on ice
Members of the Magic City Figure Skating Club will perform at their annual Holiday Magic on Ice Show on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the new Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena.
Admission is $5 per person. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted for free.
Shandra Stai, organizer of the event, said skaters from the beginning to the advanced level will be performing.
The young skaters have been rehearsing routines for upcoming competitions and the ice show will give them a chance to show the audience what they’ve been working on.
There will be a couple of group numbers, along with a performance by the synchronized skating team.
“It’s great to see a variety of the levels,” said Stai, from little 5-year-olds to teenagers.
“They work hard on their skills,” said Stai, and enjoy putting a routine together with fun music and costumes.
Kids choose their own music, so there will be a variety of styles from classical music to contemporary music.
Kids at the exhibition will also be competing through the end of February at various competitions.
