Local artists open artist cooperative gallery

Submitted Art This mixed media by Walter Piehl Jr. is among a collection of artwork by local artists in the Artspace Suite 1 Gallery to open Friday in downtown Minot.

Opening on Friday, Nov. 25, Artspace Suite 1 Gallery brings together a collective of local artists dedicated to creating professional art and presenting art to the community.

Located in the Artspace building in downtown Minot on the corner of Central and Main in Minot, the cooperative gallery has adopted the mission “to create great art for the community and a great community for artists.”

The artists have been busy working on the gallery space at 3 Main Street South, Suite 1, readying it for the opening day and in time for the holiday festivities.

Among the artists involved in the cooperative gallery’s inception are: Wendy Kimble, Walter Piehl Jr., Nancy Walters, Elizabeth Woods, Karen Davidson, Doug Pfliger, Colleen Folven, M. Paul Huffman, Susana Amundarain, Janie Myers, Linda Olson, Tyler Loeffler, Jeanne Rodgers, Pat Marquard, Carol Fielhaber, and Mike Feist.

Interested artists and patrons are welcome to join the membership.

A ribbon cutting is scheduled for  Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. with Jean Cramer Johnson of Artspace as the guest of honor.
