One of the hardest parts of winter is finding things to do to keep active and give kids a place to run around and play. With snow and threat of frostbite during the cold winter days, outdoor play can be hard and there is only so much to be done indoors.

Today through Sunday, though, Games Galore out of Bismarck will be hosting a unique indoor inflatable carnival event to get the entire family active. They invite all families looking for a place to run off some energy this weekend to the Fight the Frost Indoor Inflatable Carnival.

Fight the Frost will take place at the North Dakota State Fair center through the weekend. Open from 3-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, the inflatable carnival will offer more than 25 different games to play for all ages alongside concessions.

“We hosted it in Fargo and Bemiji,” said Corey Heiser of Games Galore, “and thought Minot would be an ideal place to host it too.”

Fight the Frost will have six obstacle courses of different shapes and sizes, a slide, a hippo chow down, and more. They will also be offering a designated kiddie area for those 5 and under to have a safe place to play.

The event has been successful in other cities and Games Galore is excited to be bringing it to Minot. Having signed a two-year contract, they will return next year as well.

“Minot has the same, if not worse, weather than the places we’ve gone and kids are looking for things to do,” said Heiser. “It’s an opportunity to get out and run some energy off.”

Admission to the event is free, but to play the game requires a pass. Those ages six and older cost $14 while those five and younger cost $8. Passes can be purchased at the door each day.

Fight the Frost is open to anyone from two to 92, according to Tera Heiser of Games Galore.
