Hey, get ready for Hay Day fall event at Oak Park

Leaves are changing, weather is cooling, and fall is underway, but for Minot Parks, there are still events to be held.

On Saturday and Sunday, the first ever Hay Days will be held at Oak Park. Music, games, and fun are planned for the two-day event with a day for those 21 and up to enjoy and a day for the family to come out together.

Saturday will be the kick-off evening for the event. Beginning at 7 p.m., community members who are 21 or older can make their way to Oak Park’s amphitheater for an outdoor dance and concert. Performing will be Big Skillet and The Tap Room will make an appearance for partygoers to purchase snacks and drinks to keep the night moving.

Then on Sunday, Hay Days will host a family day for all ages. From noon to 4 p.m., adults, parents, and children alike can take part in music, games, contests, vendors, and food trucks while enjoying the crisp air of fall.

“We want people to get involved in one of the best seasons in Minot and North Dakota,” said Elly DesLauriers of Minot Parks.

They have hay rides planned, pumpkin painting, scarecrow crafts, pumpkin bowling, giant checkers, croquet, and bucket ball. A contest for pumpkin carving will be offered for people to bring in their pumpkin work.

Live music performed by Hey Soul Sister will fill the air and local vendors will be there for some shopping. Alongside it all will be a handful of food trucks to keep energy high with food.

Both events are free to attend with food and drinks from food trucks and The Tap Room there for purchase.
