Country Sunshine Band to perform at Sibyl Center

Submitted Photo Members of Country Sunshine Band met while performing at nursing homes, bonding over their enjoyment of music. The band is made up of Arlo Moberg, Jim Hegland, Marilyn Albertson, Janice Hanson and Sandy McLoud.

The Country Sunshine Band returns for another September evening concert and dance at the Sibyl Center on Saturday. They will take the stage and kick the dance off at 7 p.m.

This area band has been playing and singing together for a number of years, having become acquainted while entertaining at a local nursing home. They discovered they had a common appreciation for the same types of music, which includes traditional country-western, old time waltzes, and polkas.

Country Sunshine Band is popular in area nursing homes and has also played at fraternal clubs and church events, as well as at Minot’s Salute to Seniors Day and annual Frozen Fingers Festival.

Members are Arlo Moberg on accordion, Jim Hegland on guitar, Marilyn Albertson on bass guitar, Janice Hanson on mandolin, and Sandy McLoud on piano/keyboard.

Admission is by donation at the door. A social hour with refreshments will follow the performance. For more information go to www.sibylcenter.org or phone Linda at 629-1721. The Sibyl Center is located at 301 1st Street SW in Stanley.
