Events to kick off the New Year celebration

With the new year approaching, many places here in Minot are preparing to celebrate the end of 2017. If you are old enough to go out, here are a few of the events happening this weekend at Minot bars and other places that serve alcohol.

Off The Vine will be starting the New Years festivities early on Dec. 30 with a New Year’s Eve Eve event. From 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., Off The Vine will have champagne testings and mimosa flights and all sparkling drinks will be $1 off. They want to celebrate the last weekend of the year in sparkling style.

Staring on New Year’s Eve, Elevation will be hosting a brunch and Bloody Mary Bar for those interesting in kicking off the day with them. The brunch buffet will cost $17 per person and the Bloody Mary Bar, which will be 50 feet with more than 150 items, will cost $15 per person. The buffet opens at 10 a.m. and the Bloody Mary Bar opens at 11 a.m. Both will run until 2 p.m. Then in the evening they will be having a featured dinner of Fresh Flown in California Grouper for diners to enjoy. Reservations aren’t required but are recommended.

Starting at 5 p.m., The Spot Pool Hall will hold a New Year’s celebration where the theme is partying like it’s 1999. For those who want a nostalgic new year, The Spot will have it with music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. They encourage partiers to dress in their favorite era and there will be photos, treats, and a midnight toast. They will also be offering prizes that celebraters can register for.

10 North Main is planning on holding a traditional Time Square New Year’s Eve party here in Minot. They will be kicking off their event at 5 p.m. with a special dinner. A reservation is required and they will be taking them from 5-10 p.m. They suggest you call early and if you are interested in their featured dinner, a Tomahawk Steak and Crab legs, to call early and let them know because there will only be a limited amount. After the dinner, they will begin their party. Tickets cost $10 in advanced and $20 at the door. They cover hors d’oeuvres and Champagne at midnight to start 2018. They will stream the countdown to the Ball Drop and they will have specialty New York themed cocktails and appetizers to enjoy.

Multiple other bars, such as the Original, The Barley Pop Bar, The Rockin’ Horse, and others will have celebrations, too. If you want to go out and have a fun time to end the old year and begin the new, the town is offering quite a few fun options.
