Chamber Chorale season launches Oct. 6

Minot’s Chamber Chorale will be setting off their season on Oct. 6 with their yearly Fall Pops Concert at The Grand Inn.

The Minot Chamber Chorale was founded in 1972 to provide chorale music to the community. It is the only mixed choir in Minot and the singers make a commitment to perform in every concert during the season because they have a deep love for chorale music and want to bring it to the community. Beyond the accompanist and the director, all members are volunteer, which has kept the Chamber Chorale going for 45 years.

For their Fall Pops Concert, the Chamber Chorale generally sings show tunes or Broadway favorites, pop tunes, and jazz works. This year they will be featuring a medley of George and Ira Gershwin with tunes like Strike up the Band, Summertime, I Got Rythm, and many more. There will also be smaller, but still regonizable works in the concert.

“It will be a well rounded and fun fall concert for all ages,” Teresa Witterman, who is on the Board of Directors, said

The Grand will open the doors for a social hour at 6:30 p.m. there will be beverages for purcahse and light snacks. The performance will then begin at 7:30 p.m. It will last a little longer than an hour with a brief intermission. The concert is free and open to the public.

“We are also excited to announce tickets for the 45th Renaissance Christmas Feast will go on sale the evening of the 6th,” Witterman said.
