Dakota Hope Clinic to hold fundraising banquet on Sept. 17

Melissa Ohden, founder of The Abortion Survivors Network, will be the main speaker at a fundraising banquet for Dakota Hope Clinic on Sept. 17 at the State Fair Center.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. that day and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m.

The banquet is a kickoff event for the fifth anniversary of the clinic, a Christian nonprofit organization that provides help for women dealing with an unintended pregnancy.

According to her biography, Ohden survived an attempt to abort her in 1977. She was at seven months gestation when an abortion doctor tried and failed to abort her via a saline infusion abortion. She learned the circumstances of her birth at age 14. She later became a social worker and has worked in the substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence and sexual abuse counseling fields. She is also involved with pro-life causes.
