25th anniversary service at Mouse River All Faith’s Chapel on Sept. 3

The Mouse River All Faith’s Chapel will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 3. Activities that day include a worship service at 11 a.m. led by Rick Hartle. Following worship, lunch will be served by the chapel board. Root beer floats will be offered while enjoying musical entertainment by Larry Nelson, scheduled to start about 1 p.m. All are invited to attend.

The All Faith’s Chapel is the former Messiah Lutheran Church of Greene. The Messiah congregation was organized in December 1913. Worship services were held in various homes and at the local school until 1934 when the school was purchased from the township for $200. After remodeling, this building served the community until 1990.

In 1992, the church found a new home when it was moved to the Mouse River Park on land donated by Ernie Mau. That year, the Mouse River All Faith’s Chapel was formed. The goal of the chapel is to provide a non-denominational place of worship that fosters and encourages Christian fellowship. Anyone interested in hosting a worship service, wedding, baptism, or other event at the Chapel should contact either Larry Metzen at 386-2215 or Angela Sundahl at 240-5232.
