‘Tis the season’

Holiday ‘Twilight’ Tour of Homes set for Dec. 3

‘Tis the season for the Taube Museum of Art’s Holiday “Twilight” Tour of Homes fundraiser.

This year’s tour will be held Dec. 3, from 3-7 p.m., with tastefully decorated homes for everyone to enjoy.

The tour will include:

Margaret and Seth Lange’s home at 2312 W. Central will have flags waving representing their Danish Scandinavian heritage. Margaret Lange has decorated by color with rich golds and silver flourish in two rooms, right down to the elegant china. She treasures her many sets of dishes. There’s also a “Barbie Wonderland.” Through the years, Margaret Lange has acquired every Barbie ornament made. Check out the Penguin tree, too. The New York Yankee Room is a must see. The warmly decorated children’s theme room will be enjoyed by all.

Lynette and Lawren Wold’s home at 2819 8th Street SE is a home that those on the home tour need to take in everything. Lynnette Wold decorates many trees, and with a Goebel Angel bell collection on one. The home has wonderful architectural interest with different colored moldings, unique faucets, glamorous light fixtures, and an intriguing kitchen with many interesting aspects. Visitors should take note of the beautiful master bedroom ceiling. The panoramic view from the windows is beautiful. The find is the Barbie House that is not a “toy” house. Where is it?

Judy and Dave Klein’s home at 809 15th Avenue SE is eclectic. There’s traditional, modern and elegance done to perfection. Visitors can enjoy the whimsical kid’s room that is delightful and filled with a huge snow globe collection where everyone will get lost in each one. There’s a Starbuck’s tree and a tree displaying Hallmark ornaments. Sportsmen should look for the New York Yankees room, with memories and delights to behold. The Kleins have a “special surprise” in store for all guests, which will delight the child in all of us.

Vonda and Curt Clark’s home at 1317 17-1/2 Avenue SW is alluring with lights, lights and more lights. Vonda Clark is a professional tree decorator, so visitors will see the jeweled areas of glitz. Their split-level home is open, bright and beautiful. Her craft room is a well-designed area for all her needs, with such organization. She makes use of her talents and bright ideas in a dreamy room for scrapbooking. Curt Clark is going to share his office splendor too.

Helen Helley’s condo at The View, and The View itself, at 2905 Elk Drive are decorated “over the top.” Helen Helley loves Christmas and it is evident. She will feature her collection of Nativities which bring her much joy, and her vast number of Santas collected over the years which will definitely put visitors in the Christmas spirit. She has been shopping for another tree. The View is also decorated in classic Christmas decor, lights twinkling everywhere. Lights, lights, lights, can be viewed from the second floor along with a magnificent view of Minot. Each room at The View has been meticulously decorated with warmth and hominess in mind. Those on the tour can register for a drawing of a goody basket while there.

The Hyatt House at 2301 Landmark Drive has a gigantic Christmas tree decked out in holiday splendor. A decorated suite will be shown in all its glory. Photo booth ops can be checked out for a perfect Christmas picture and there will be treats for the tour-goers.

The homes can be visited in any order. Tour participants are asked to wear slip-on shoes. A bag will be provided for them.

People can stop at the Taube Museum of Art at 2 North Main Street to register for two $250 gift certificates donated by I Keating Furniture World and many other door prizes while enjoying  a sip of cider and sweet treats. They can view art on display from the Festival of the Season Art Sale and shop the gift shop. Homemade cookies and sweet treats from the Cookie Walk at the Taube Museum, sold by the pound, will be available, all starting at 3 p.m., until they are gone.

Anyone interested in having their home on the 2017 tour, is asked to contact Mary Graner at 838-6719, to have their name added to the list.
