Market on 4th to open every weekend
As repurposed, secondhand and handmade stores become increasingly popular, area stores are doing all they can to accommodate the growing interest. The Market on 4th, located at 1900 4th Avenue NW, is making some changes to better serve the Minot area.
Walking into the store, repurposed and handmade products, decor and furniture fill the space giving a rustic, cozy feel. The store, only open the second and fourth weekend of every month, knew it was missing some of the people in the are looking to spruce up their homes.
“We just felt like we were missing out on some of our customers,” owner Kelsey Stone said. “We would miss people when we weren’t open.”
Recently, The Market on 4th announced on their Facebook page that they would start to open up every single weekend beginning at the end of this month.
“We’ve been open every weekend during the Christmas season before and done really well,” Stone said. “We’re hoping that’ll be the same now that we’re open every weekend.”
The Market on 4th has more than 40 makers that contribute to the store, a majority of which come from North Dakota. The emphasis is to promote and encourage producers to keep their products in the state while also encouraging the community to buy local.
Beginning Sept. 20, the store will be open every single weekend. Their new hours will be Thursday from noon to 7 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
