The Bank of Tioga gives $10,000 to three local businesses

The Bank of Tioga announced that $10,000 was distributed to three local businesses on Nov. 17 as the result of their REV event.

The Bank of Tioga hosted REV – a small business pitch competition as a way to reinvest in local businesses and entrepreneurs. With $10,000 at stake, applicants to REV were given 10 minutes to pitch their business ideas, with five minutes for questions from a panel of four judges.

Three businesses received funds from the event; Hidden Beauty Salon and Spa, Frandsen Landscaping and Fall Fest on the Farm, and Stems & Salvage.

Hidden Beauty Salon and Spa of Tioga won $3,500.

“We appreciate the support of area businesses from The Bank of Tioga by offering a competition like REV,” said Jessica Nygaard of Hidden Beauty. “We are very excited to use the award to bring a Red Light Therapy Bed to Tioga. Red Light Therapy is very beneficial in treating skin problems and providing pain relief for a variety of conditions.”

Fransen Landscaping and Fall Fest on the Farm of Tioga was also awarded $3,500.

“We want to give a huge thank you to The Bank of Tioga for the grant money of $3,500 we received,” expressed Lucy and Hank Frandsen, owners of the Frandsen Farms. “We will use it to grow and improve our annual Fall Fest on the Farm and other events which will be enjoyed by families.”

Stems and Salvage of Crosby won $3,000.“Thank you to The Bank of Tioga for this opportunity to grow my business and my offerings to the community, “ said Brittany Sparks of Stems and Salvage. Sparks plans to utilize the funds to help kick off art classes for children in the Crosby area.
