Ryan Chevrolet donates to cancer cause

Ryan Chevrolet presented the Minot Y’s Men a check for $3,502 from its Making Strides Against Breast Cancer fundraising efforts held throughout the month of October. Fundraising activities included a free-will pancake and sausage breakfast and donations from Ryan Chevrolet employees.

The pancake and sausage breakfast, which raised the lion’s share of this donation, was held on Oct. 7. With help from Perkins Family Restaurants and US Foods, Ryan Chevrolet offered free pancakes and sausage to everyone in attendance, asking only for a donation in return. All money raised was then matched by Ryan Chevrolet.

To complement the breakfast, Ryan Chevrolet employees wore jeans and pink T-shirts every Friday in October for a small donation. Ryan Chevrolet matched all the money that was raised on “jeans Friday.”

“Ryan Chevrolet and its employees have all been affected by cancer in some way, so it is very important for us to be able to give back to those in our community that are currently battling this disease,” said Joel Sandy, Ryan Chevrolet marketing manager.

Plans are already in the works for another cancer fundraiser event next October.
