Four new to First Western Bank

Chad Schmidt has joined First Western Bank & Trust as an trust administrative assistant. He is a Minot native who graduated from Minot High School and the University of North Dakota, with a bachelor’s degree in history. Schmidt also received his master’s degree from Teacher’s College at Columbia University.

Previously, Schmidt had ownership and served as general manager and president for 10 North Main in Minot.

Also hired by First Western, Adrianna Wetzel was raised in Mohall and Minot, and is a Minot High School graduate. She has over four years of experience in customer service in a financial setting, and previously worked at US Bank. At First Western Bank & Trust she is a customer service representative.

First Western has also hired two new mortgage lenders.

Sarah Burckhard grew up in Colorado but has been in Minot for the past 15 years. She has more than 10 years in lending experience and previously worked at Gate City Bank. She is a senior mortgage lender.

The other new senior mortgage lender, Steve Fennewald, is a Minot native who graduated from Bishop Ryan High School and Minot State University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Fennewald comes to First Western Bank and Trust from Gate City Bank, with more than 25 years of lending experience. He has served as the mayor in the city of Surrey and is a charter member of the Surrey Lions Club.
