Mattress Firm announces Tropical Storm Harvey relief efforts

BISMARCK — Minot and other North Dakota franchises of mattress retailer Mattress Firm have answered the call after the devastating flooding in Southeast Texas in the wake of Tropical Storm Harvey.

A group of Mattress Firm franchises, collectively owned by Roberts Brothers Consulting Group, is donating $20,000 to the American Red Cross Association for Harvey relief. The money is used to fund emergency survival kits that include a pillow, blanket, towel and other needed essentials. These comfort kits will go to various shelters that are currently being operated in the Houston area.

“Mattress Firm was founded in Houston, but more than that, it’s the right thing to do,” said Harry Roberts, part-owner of Roberts Brothers Consulting Group and one of the original founders of Mattress Firm. “Our group has locally-owned franchises in Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota and Tulsa and together we’re donating $20,000 for Harvey relief.”

In addition to the Roberts Brothers Consulting Group franchises’ donation, Mattress Firm corporate is donating $1 million in product to those in need. An additional $1 million of pillows, blankets and mattresses will be donated to those who have lost their homes and need to rebuild through a portion of every purchase made in any of Mattress Firm’s more than 3,500 stores nationwide through Tuesday.
