Clever choreography matched with mesmerizing music will be displayed by Studio X, at the Holiday Inn-Riverside in Minot, as they present “The Lion King,” Friday at 7 p.m. followed by a double showing Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Throughout their large scale production, approximately 82 performers will grace the stage to showcase their dancing prowess and theatrical aptitude.

Winner of multiple Tony Awards, “The Lion King” features Academy Award winning song “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” along with Oscar nominated songs “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata.”

Chastity Askvig, the owner of Studio X, is thrilled to provide family entertainment for the Magic City.

“‘The Lion King’ is full of excitement for the whole family,” Askvig said. “The kids performing are from the ages of three to 19 and it’s a fun-filled production like you would see in the big city. There will be lots of singing, dancing, acting and everything you would imagine from a theatrical performance.”

Regarded as one of the premier dance studios in Minot, the dancers at Studio X have garnered championship acclaim and feel excited about their upcoming performance.

“The dancers are amazing and their energy remains high all the time,” Askvig said. “Their acting abilities are very good, especially for some of their ages. All of the dancers are going all out and they’re looking forward to have a great time on stage.”

During the showcase, antendees can anticipate a plethora of dance genres including ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip- hop and contemporary.
