Marco’s Pizza opens at Oak Park Shopping Center

New jobs, pizza parlor come to renovated shopping center

The amazing aroma of pizza, subs, chicken wings and salads is creating excitement at Oak Park Shopping Center, as Marco’s Pizza becomes the newest pizza parlor to open its doors in the Magic City.

Nathan Heinert, owner of Marco’s Pizza, expressed great enthusiasm about the food and popularity of Minot’s latest pizza franchise.

“The food is amazing,” Heinert said. “Marco’s Pizza was voted ‘The Best Tasting Pizza in America for 2017.'”

Throughout Marco’s Pizza are Tuscan-themed archways and Italian decor along with flat screen televisions highlighting sports, weather and breaking news.

As patrons enter Minot’s newest pizzeria, customers are greeted with a hearty ‘hello and welcome’ from the team members of Marco’s Pizza.

Justin Helseth, an employee at Marco’s Pizza, shared his tremendous excitement about serving the public and learning from team members.

“The people who work here are really amazing and understand the value of giving good customer service,” Helseth said. “The pizza is good and the service here is good.”

Described by Heinert as customer service rock stars, team members of Marco’s Pizza understand they’re providing quality pizza along with a top caliber dining experience.

“We’ve put together a rock star staff that likes to have fun,” Heinert said “They take pride in this new facility, they enjoy serving the community and I’m really amazed by their energy and commitment. I believe our staff has the ability to make a big difference.”

From serving a pizza coated with mouth-watering toppings to dine-in customers Marla and Bill Uscensky, to providing fundraisers for Minot area schools, Marco’s Pizza wants to deliver high caliber service throughout the Magic City.

“We do fundraisers and we’re looking forward to working with the schools,” Heinert said. “One of the really cool fundraisers we have is called ‘Box Night.’ During this fundraiser, we’ll give school classes plain white pizza boxes and allow them to decorate them. So, when the students’ parents, guardians or friends call to place an order, the pizza will be delivered in the boxes designed by the student.”

In addition to helping Minot’s youth, Marco’s Pizza is providing a 20 percent discount to all military, police and firefighters who order from its pizza parlor.

Before spinning dough and coating chicken wings with fresh spices, Heinert spent much of his youth at the Oak Park Shopping Center.

For Heinert, a native of Minot, bringing business back to a childhood shopping center is an emotional experience.

“Being a part of providing a face lift for this area is really exciting,” Heinert said. “It’s hard to talk about this moment without getting a little choked up. Anyone can go out and make money or do things that they love. With the things we’re doing in this shopping center, it feels good and it feels like we’re doing something that means more. We’re creating jobs, changing people’s lives and it’s awesome to hear people say, ‘We’ve been in this area for so long and it’s great to see some stuff going on here again.’ Everything we do over here really impacts more than our lives but the lives of the community.”
