Quilt Festival returns to Minot
Colorful visions of spring paired with eye catching designs will be displayed during the 24th Annual Minot Prairie Quilt Festival Friday-Sunday at the Grand Hotel in Minot.
For three days, visitors can observe the sight of vibrant honey bees basking in a floral paradise before visually exploring quilted orchards swaying beneath an enchanting night sky.
“It’s all about the buzz,” said Sally Mosser, a member of the Minot Prairie Quilt Guild. “Every year, our festival has a theme and we chose ‘Bee a quilter, it’s all about the buzz.'”
While some spectators embrace the warmth of spring, others can dive into an abstract world of optical illusions and contemporary designs.
In addition to viewing over 100 quilts from North American artists, visitors can meet and greet nationally acclaimed experts and authors Susan K. Cleveland and Laura Wasilowski.
Joyce Stuber, a member of the Minot Prairie Quilt Guild, believes audiences will be amazed by the remarkable works of this year’s talent.
“It’s unbelievable how artistic the quilters are,” Stuber said. “Their work can take you anywhere. This year, there will be rows and rows of quilts that provide all sorts of colors with different techniques and all kinds of designs.”
From live demonstrations to visiting several vendors with unique items, the 24th Annual Minot Prairie Quilt Festival promises plenty to see and many things to do.
“There will be raffles to win and a flea market to visit,” Mosser said. “We also invite everyone to sit down in the tea room and enjoy a relaxing cup of tea.”
