Local author Marissa Howard to sign copies of “Loveless” at Main Street Books
Marissa Howard, a Minot area author, creates an apocalyptic world devoured by hate and deprived of love, in her compelling book titled “Loveless.”
Saturday, Feb. 18, Main Street Books will host an autograph session in which readers can meet and greet Howard from 2-5 p.m.
Throughout Howard’s book, mankind approaches the brink of social collapse and global destruction, after agreeing to forbid displays of affection.
Faced with the task of rebuilding their civilization, 97 people will be challenged to abandon their conformity, embrace their personalities and rediscover their ability to express love.
Aly Stoeckley, manager of Main Street Books, believes “Loveless” shines a light on today’s decrease of face-to-face action interactions.
“Today, we’ve got seminars and books teaching adults how to communicate with each other,” Stoeckley said. “There is a growing dependence of technology and a real reliance on avoiding face-to-face communication. It’s a real possibility that technology could make lots of emotions disappear.”
