Before 2016 comes to a close, Minot residents can welcome the new year with a renewed personal energy and the hope of stronger connections to others.

Tonight, from 6- 8 p.m., Lori Jenson-Lashman, the owner of Antiques, Arts and Angels, is hosting a class called ‘Energy for Life, The Pure Truth’.

During the interactive course, instructors will help participants understand how personal thoughts influence the outcome of goals and relationships.

“We’re all made of energy,” Jenson-Lashman said. “Everything in the world has energy and creates vibrations. The class helps you to realize the energy around us, the energy we share and how to protect the energy we make. This is important because there are people who draw energy from you which can drain you.”

According to Jenson-Lashman, good health and long term happiness is influenced by the thoughts and expectations we have of ourselves.

“It’s important to set the intentions you want for your life,” Jenson-Lashman said. “If you think bad thoughts, chances are you’re going to experience unpleasant things.”

While vacationing in Arizona, Jenson-Lashman visited a friend, who shared a book entitled “Angels 101” by Doreen Virtue.

After reading some of the passages, Jenson-Lashman felt inspired to open Antiques, Arts and Angels.

“I had a spiritual awakening of my own,” Jenson-Lashman said. “I found out that quotes like ‘let go, let God’ and ‘you can create your own reality’ were more than sayings, they were real. I discovered when you let go and let God handle things, life gets a lot easier. I think everyone needs a little bit of spirituality. It makes you feel better and it fills what you’re missing inside.”

Across the downtown establishment, candles, literature, children’s books along with natural essential oils and stones are sold to promote healing and improved mood.

Sculptures of angels along with glassware can also be found.

“I’m looking to provide healing from the inside out,” Jenson Lashman said. “Essential oils and crystal rocks have healing properties which have been used since biblical times. People need to experience happiness from the inside before they can feel happiness on the outside.”

Throughout the class, Jenson-Lashman hopes that everyone discovers healthy ways to value their intuition, personal goals and ability to directly or indirectly impact the lives of others.

“There is a oneness in the world and we’re all able to make it a better place,” Jenson-Lashman said. “Once you realize this, you’re able to make the world a better place for yourself and those around you.”
